POSTED

Invenia Search has partnered with an early-stage clinical genomics software company to hire a Product Owner. This role is remote - the candidate must be Europe-based.

The company is building software that helps genomics labs turn sequencing data into clinical reports, starting in oncology. Today that interpretation work takes hours of expert time per case; the company's software does the evidence work, shows its sources and leaves the final judgement with the expert. Its first labs are live, and it is now building the team to grow with them.

Role Responsibilities:

The engineering team can build faster than the company can currently decide what to build – you will close that gap and make sure the decisions are the right ones.

  • Own the product backlog, deciding what goes into each release and what gets cut

  • Spend real time inside the labs using the software, learning the sign-out workflow well enough to challenge it

  • Find the problems nobody has thought to report, and stop work on plans that will not hold up in a real lab

  • Write specifications precise enough to build from without a meeting, including acceptance criteria, edge cases and what is out of scope

  • Work with engineering every day, and with the commercial team on what is being promised to customers

  • Make sure requirements stay within what the product's regulatory status allows it to claim

What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for a product owner who has decided scope for software used in clinical or genomics laboratories.

  • 3+ years owning software used in a clinical or diagnostic laboratory, or in NGS or genomics analysis

  • Experience as the person who decided scope for a named product and engineering team, not refining someone else's backlog

  • Experience running discovery sessions yourself with pathologists, clinical scientists or lab staff

  • Clear, precise writing that engineers can work from without follow-up questions

  • Comfortable working without a research team, designer or analyst, fully remote and mostly async

  • Helpful but not required: knowledge of variant interpretation, exposure to the EU AI Act for high-risk systems, a clinical or bioinformatics background, German

Sound Interesting? If you are looking to grow your career in clinical genomics software, with meaningful equity and work that reaches real labs, we would like to hear from you.
