Sequencing a tumour is fast. Turning that data into a report an oncologist can act on still takes hours of expert work per case. My client is building AI-powered software that gives that time back to genomics labs, and it's already running in clinical labs today.

They're a well-funded, early-stage precision oncology company with an experienced leadership team from global diagnostics and pharma. They're now building the core engineering team, and this is one of the first key hires, focused on the product people actually use every day.

What you'll do:

  • Own the frontend of the product end to end, from idea to production and beyond

  • Design and build the interfaces clinical scientists use to review complex genomic data and sign off reports

  • Turn dense, high-stakes information into clear, fast and intuitive workflows

  • Work directly with genomics experts and users in the lab to understand what they need, and shape the product around it

  • Help set the frontend architecture, design standards and engineering culture as the team grows

What they're looking for:

  • A strong frontend engineer with solid React experience

  • A real eye for UI/UX. There's no designer on the team, so you'll shape how the product looks and feels

  • Experience building data-heavy applications, such as dashboards, review tools or complex workflows

  • Someone who ships when requirements are still fuzzy and keeps owning what they built

  • Comfortable working independently, remote-first and async, with clear written communication

  • Happy to work across the stack when needed: Python, React, Kubernetes

Nice to have (not required):

  • Experience in healthcare, life sciences or regulated software, an AI-native way of working, or time as a founding or early-stage engineer.

Why this one stands out:

  • What you build is used in clinical labs and supports cancer patient care

  • You own the user experience of the product from the start

  • Meaningful equity for every hire

  • A small team where your impact is visible from day one

  • AI used across the whole development cycle, so you spend your time on design and judgement, not routine work

  • Fully remote anywhere in Europe, with regular team offsites

There's no layer of product managers, designers, QA or meetings here. If you care about great interfaces and like building things properly from an early stage, this is a rare chance to do it in a field that matters.
